Professional Development Opportunities at CfBT

Professional Development Opportunities

At CfBT we are committed to the continuing growth and development of our teachers. This is an essential part of our capacity building guarantee to the Ministry of Education and our ongoing support to all CfBT educators.

Opportunity to Undertake Relevant
Distance Learning Opportunities

CfBT believes that investing in the professional development of teachers is crucial to ensuring quality education for all. As part of this commitment, we offer funding support to teachers who are pursuing relevant distance learning postgraduate degrees from esteemed institutions in New Zealand, Australia, the UK, and Canada.
Our teachers are passionate about continuously improving their skills and knowledge, and we are proud to say that one of our teachers has recently been awarded the prestigious Chartered College of Teaching certificate.
At CfBT, we believe in supporting our teachers in their pursuit of excellence, and we provide them with the resources they need to achieve their professional goals.

Internal Continuous
Development Programmes

At CfBT, we are committed to helping our teachers grow and improve their skills every year. That’s why we provide all our teachers with a wide range of annual continuing professional development options. These workshops cover a variety of topics that are current and cater to the needs of teachers.
Led by our Education Development Management teams or teachers themselves, these workshops are designed to be both informative and interactive. They are a great way for teachers to learn new techniques, exchange ideas, and get inspired by their peers.
CfBT regularly organises Collaborative Learning Afternoons (CLAs). These are knowledge sharing afternoon with CfBT teachers, which usually include various topics presented by CfBT teachers themselves, sharing their real-life classroom experiences.

Opportunity to be in Advisory
and Leadership Roles

As a part of its contract, CfBT partners with the Ministry of Education annually on a range of national educational initiatives and programmes.
CfBT teachers, without exception, contribute proactively to these initiatives and programmes as qualified and experienced specialists in participative project support or lead roles. Our project support and lead roles, which are fixed-term, part-time roles in addition to a fulltime teaching role, are advertised internally to our professional teaching experts in Brunei, who are remunerated based on the scope and detail of work required.
Collectively, and on an annual basis, our teachers lead on average up to 360 continuous professional development sessions, reaching over 4000 local teachers through training and learning initiatives.
