Celebration Event

November 10, 2025 — The Ministry of Education (MoE), in collaboration with CfBT Education Services, held the Reading Hubs End-of-Year Celebration at the International Convention Centre (ICC), recognising the achievements of participating schools during the project’s inaugural pilot year. 

The event was graced by Guest of Honour Yang Mulia Pengiran Dr Mohamad Iskandar bin Pengiran Haji Petra, who presented special progress awards to schools for their commitment in fosterinag a culture of reading. 

Also present was keynote speaker and author Pauline Chan, who delivered an address on the importance of nurturing reading enjoyment from an early age. The Country Manager and Co-Directors of CfBT Education Services attended alongside representatives from 12 participating primary and secondary schools. 

Organised as part of the MoE-CfBT Reading Hubs initiative, the programme aims to raise the profile of reading for pleasure across schools, providing spaces and activities that encourage students to become confident and enthusiastic readers. 

Schools were commended for their progress in this first pilot year, with the initiative set to expand further in 2026 as part of continued efforts to strengthen literacy and lifelong learning among Brunei’s young people.
